Vintage Stratton Powder Compact 1950s England Hand-Enamelled Ducks Art Deco

For sale is a beautiful vintage Stratton powder compact from the 1950s, Made in England. This classic mid-century piece features a stunning hand-enamelled lid with a flock of colourful flying ducks (mallards/waterfowl) soaring over reeds and marsh grass. Rich reds, blues, greens and browns stand out against a brushed gold-tone background. The enamel inlay remains vibrant and highly detailed, capturing the movement and feathering of the birds beautifully. Exterior: Round gold-tone metal case with brushed finish and subtle concentric rings on the back. Scalloped edge and secure spring clasp. The duck scene is crisp with excellent colour retention. There are light surface scratches and minor scuffs to the gold-tone areas, visible in the photos and consistent with normal vintage wear from age and handling. No deep gouges and no damage to the enamel ducks. Markings (interior base): Classic Stratton logo (hand holding compact and lipstick) with “Stratton” engraved. Authentic British manufacture. Interior: Clean round mirror with no heavy spotting. Original powder well with light beige/ivory pressed powder remnants and the matching Stratton puff/sponge, which is soft, intact and free from tears. Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. The enamel remains vivid and intact, and the gold-tone finish shows light patina, fine scratches and minor wear consistent with over 70 years of age. No dents, no repairs and no damage to the hinge or clasp. Opens and closes smoothly.
