★ What is Ata?
It is a famous craft from the village of Tenganan in Bali, made by carefully weaving the long stems of a type of fern that has been split lengthwise.
The process involves weaving → sun-drying → coloring → shade-drying, and is completed with great care.
It has a unique scent (due to being smoked with coconut broth) and is also insect-repellent and mold-resistant.
