Who we are
AECIP is an employer association, with nonprofit character, that brings together all the industrialists who design, manufacture, import, market and repair instruments designed to know the weight of things.
The Association is recognized as an employer representative body and registered in the Register of Associations in the Ministry of Labor and Social Securityl.
His scope of work throughout Spain.
AECIP is a recognized interlocutor for the Spanish Center of Metrology – CEM, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, in charge of the custody of the National Standards of Weights and Measures, of the approvals of models of measuring instruments, of the accreditations of collaborating entities for the periodic metrological control of measuring instruments in service. It is also the consultative body of the Administration for the implementation of European Directives, the modification of existing laws and the development of new laws and regulations that constitute the set of regulations of Legal Metrology in Spain.
AECIP is a full member of the Comité Européen de Constructeurs d’Instruments de Pesage (C.E.C.I.P) the body responsible for the coordination of the weighing industry for all of Europe. In turn, CECIP is a consultative member of international organizations such as WELMEC and OIML.
AECIP is a collective member of the employer association PIMEC.

Goals
The SPANISH ASSOCIATION OF COORDINATION OF THE WEIGHING INDUSTRY (AECIP) is a non-profit association, which groups companies that design, manufacture, market, maintain, calibrate, rent or repair weighing instruments, especially those that use, are subject to the regulations of Legal Metrology.
Continuer of the activities of the former Balances and Scale Manufacturers Guild, the activities of the association pursue:
- Provide its associates with a space for cooperation in all aspects that may affect them.
- Provide the precise training of the collaborators and related persons of the associated companies and the general public of the common aspects of the sector.
- Promote good uses in the use and conservation of weighing instruments.
- Constitute the representative body of the sector in front of the Public Administrations.
- Coordinate with international associations in the sector.
